A Message To My Cache Thief.

I've a problem with someone. Well, to be honest, someone has a problem with me.

I've archived nearly ten caches in the last couple of months due to theft of the caches. In one instance they actually stole a chirp and that really cost me some money.

I can't understand the mind of a cache maggot. Why? Just because you want the containers? It can't be because you wanted the locations. None of them were really remarkable, just places on the road that I find interesting. On the whole around here, most place caches just to place a cache. Not many put a lot of thought into it. We have the rare one who will give a true challenge.

But why are you targeting me?

I would love to know how I have offended someone so much that it has caused them to do this. And it has to be a cacher. People cursed me for some of these hides. When I go micro, I go micro. The chirp that was stolen was a PMO cache. So I have a list. I don't think this was just an accidental find by a muggle. If it were just the one cache I would think it was. But it's not.

The only reason I can think of is that I left the group. It's not like I disbanded it, I handed it off to someone that would take care of it. Someone who still has a passion for caching. I am slowly losing that passion due to the actions described above. Was it because I didn't hand the group off to you, Cache Thief? Did you feel that you were the better choice? I assure you that you weren't if you're doing this.

I'm going to give you a chance though. No you don't have to admit what you've done.

I'm giving you a chance to stop what you are doing. Let it go and there won't be any problems for you. If you decide to continue, I will catch you.

And then I will turn you over to the caching community. Not just locally, but to the whole caching community. World wide.

I will plaster your picture and an explanation of what you've done to every social group, every caching forum, every little corner of caching.

So lets stop now.

  1. We had a issue like this in the Summer of 2011. We could not keep a container out with out it being taken unless is was a micro. The new cacher in the area, stopped caching and our issue ceased. I can't stand a thief. We hope yours passes as well. Don't lose heart on the hobby, its a great one.
